How and when did you first find out about your 'psychic abilities'?
It was in high school. I had had an interest in the occult and metaphysical subjects for a number of years prior to undertaking any study of them. I was in tenth grade when I got my first Tarot deck and acquired my first books on astrology. From that point on, I was totally invested in learning how they worked. Later on, I added numerology, the runes and the I Ching.
How was it growing up with these special skills. Are they natural talents or did you study and develop them?
It was never something that was either a problem or a benefit. It just was. Whether or not it is a natural talent or a developed one is hard to say. I think I developed and honed skills that allowed me to augment what was a natural thing for me to do.
Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?
To some degree, yes. I suspect that everyone has them as potentials within. However, there are certain individuals who have a more natural bent toward them. It is up to each of us to decide whether to allow the abilities to emerge by study and practice or allow them to remain dormant and untapped.
What type of mentality do you think it takes to develop these skills?
First and foremost is the personal choice to maintain objectivity and balance. I may be one lone voice on this topic, but I think everyone has to keep in mind that the subjective world of the mind and the psyche most often work through symbols, and symbols are open to interpretation. To blithely accept any received information without due scrutiny and objectivity I think, is not a good thing. It can be too easy to view 'received' information as truth.
Are you able to turn your psychic abilities 'on' or 'off' when you want to? Do you have any rituals to turn them 'on'.
I can certainly attempt to flip the switch as it were, but the more you do that, the greater the likelihood that I will get information, which is not strictly intuitive. The natural approach works better for me. Today we live in a world that asks for immediate gratification yet the realm of the spiritual and intuitive is all around us. I think it is better to allow spontaneity. As much as possible anyway. I have never employed any rituals to turn intuition 'on' or 'off'.
How did you get into doing psychic readings?
My exploration of the Tarot oracle and Astrology naturally brought me to doing interpretations for others. It was simply a natural outgrowth. I began as a teenager and the exploration continues to this day.
What happens during a psychic reading?
Many things happen during a reading, some noticeable, some barely discernible. I try to stand outside of the process in order to maintain an overview and impartiality. One thing I consciously attempt to do is keep the reading client-centered. I strive to have as little of me in the reading as is humanly possible. I am also big on feedback. I do not pretend to have all the answers. No one is infallible. It's true that many people imagine the worst of all possible outcomes when confronted with a difficult choice or situation. Often times that worry over the outcome is over inflated. When I sense or hear it on the part of my client, I do my best to impart a sense of objectivity about the issues she or he is facing.
What is your primary tool for divination? What is your specialty?
To be honest, I can't say that I have one primary tool. What I've always done is to have an array of tools at my disposal and make a determination about which will most effective for the client?s given issues. For example, while Tarot can be an effective tool with which to view possible future resulting outcomes, Astrology is much better when looking at human personality and behavior. Numerology is very good at assessing life cycles and trends. The I Ching is often an excellent choice when we need to look at the 'why' of an issue or problem. Specialty? Again, I am not sure I can say I have one. I will say that Astrology is, for me, the most personally fascinating subject.
Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?
I have communed with certain spiritual entities, but not those of deceased persons, and that was during meditation. I do no work of this type for clients or in any professional situation.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your abilities or a good experience?
While it is imperative that I am fluent and at ease with whatever tools I am using, I do not think that metaphysical knowledge is complete. I am better off with having knowledge of many subjects outside of the psychic / metaphysical realm such as art, music, history, economics, Mythology and the social sciences. Any or all of these are valuable knowledge that I can add to the clarity of readings.
