How and when did you first find out about your 'psychic abilities'?
From earliest memory, I recall knowing that I would have certain life experiences. I felt the emotion, even the pain, of others. This is very confusing for a child. I remember miracles occurring with our family from the age of two. But the best way to describe what I experienced then and now is a 'knowing', and awareness.
How was it growing up with these special gifts?
At times it was fun; knowing what my parents or teachers wanted before they asked. But, it does tend to ostracize you. Because of my gift of clairsentience, I became the class 'counselor'. Everyone came to me with their problems; from Junior High, to current day. It all was just a part of who I was. My education and career were in line with traditional counseling. I continued metaphysical studies. It gave structure, taught protection and boundaries. Then I discovered Astrology. It felt like I found an old friend: familiar, yet new.
Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?
Our psychic senses are natural to all of us. They do not need to be taught, rather, they need to be respected, remembered, honored, and most importantly, allowed. Everyone knows the feeling of listening to their 'gut' and following it, or regretting second guessing them. These gifts can be developed, however, honed like other gifts and skills.
What type of mentality do you think it takes to develop these talents?
It takes an open, curious mind. The mind cannot judge everything by standards that do not apply in the spiritual realm. It also takes patience and perseverance. A sense of adventure can be quite helpful as well.
Are you able to turn your psychic abilities 'on' or 'off' when you want to? Do you have any rituals to turn them 'on'?
The abilities are always on, like our other senses (hearing or feeling) are always on. It helps to meditate before doing a reading and incense unlocks my imagination. Ritual can be very powerful, especially with the phases of the Moon.
How did you get into doing psychic readings?
Marie, the psychic who saw the 'Star' in my palm, told me that I would do this one day. When I came to Southern California, my first reading with a psychic revealed the same thing. I started giving readings professionally in 1990.
What happens during a psychic reading?
The first thing I do is connect with the client through breath and light meditation. The more relaxed the person, the better the reading. I have a silent discussion with Spirit throughout the reading. I believe I am a conduit for my client. Higher, spiritual energy comes through if we are receptive. It is all about empowering a person to be confident and trust themselves. Most often we know the answers we seek; we just need confirmation. When a client becomes angry or challenging, it is like putting up the Great Wall of China between the two of us. It is completely counter-productive.
What is your primary tool for divination?
For divination, I use the Tarot, Numerology, and Pendulum. Astrology is my specialty, however. I focus on the client's natal chart throughout the reading. The natal Astrology chart is the map of our soul. I feel the person right there with me and understand their motivations through their chart. Then, we can see what cycles the person is experiencing. Astrology is a spiritual science and I am passionate about it.
Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?
I have done so several times, with my own family members, as well as for clients. But it only happens (for me) when Spirit wants to reach me, not the other way around.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your abilities or a good experience?
I had the good fortune to read for a famous, accomplished scientist/doctor. He was very surprised by the accuracy of the reading and asked how I was doing this. I used Numerology for his reading. As a man of science, he understood the physical (outer, exoteric) meaning of numbers. And as a spiritual advisor, I used the esoteric (inner) meaning. It was thrilling to compare the opposite side of the coin with a master. He had a rare appreciation for the work of a psychic or spiritual advisor after that experience.
