How and when did you first find out about your 'psychic abilities'?
I became truly aware of it when my grandmother died when I was about 12, although my mother tells me it was evident before then. If it was, I wasn't as aware of it, I was only aware of the fact that people thought I was weird.
How was it growing up with these special skills?
To be honest, sometimes it was difficult. My mother says that I first began showing some psychic abilities as young as seven. Once people notice, they listen to you, but they also treat you like you're a little weird. As a child it was sometimes difficult to feel like I belonged. I began to augment 'the gift' with Astrology studies, so I could feel I was in control of it. So, between natural abilities and some study and development I came to a good place.
Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?
To a greater or lesser degree, yes. People that are really well grounded often can't access their skills. It really depends on the person and how they view the world and psychic energy. But, generally speaking, anyone can work on it and improve their skills.
What type of mentality do you think it takes to develop these skills?
I think it takes a person who is not limited by the things they can see. The more emotional they are, the better able to access psychic energy. It begins with empathy and that is emotional in nature, and while psychic energy is not emotional it helps to be emotionally versatile in order to access the psychic energy.
Are you able to turn your psychic abilities 'on' or 'off' when you want to? Do you have any rituals to turn them 'on'.
I meditate for 5 minutes before I begin work. That has always been all the time I need to turn it on. But, I'm not able to turn it off easily. That's in fact, one of my weaknesses. It can turn on, but then I can get so tired because I can't turn it off and disconnect. I often will wake up in the middle of the night and get something for a client I haven't talked to in months. It can be so tiring.
How did you get into giving psychic readings?
Professionally I began doing it when I was dealing with an illness. I needed to be able to work from home and someone directed me to a line. That was almost 20 years ago. At first I didn't think I'd be able to connect over the phone. I'd always done it in person previously. I thought it would be so difficult to do over a phone line. There are times when I still think it will be difficult, but for the most part reading over the phone has become as easy for me as a face to face reading.
What happens during a psychic reading?
Good question. Well, in the beginning it is like a blank page, and then the pieces begin to fill in. Usually, I reach a point where it all 'clicks' and I see the picture or hear the right words. Then it will all come tumbling out of me. That's a good reading, when I feel that 'click' and know I'm on a roll.
What is your primary tool for divination? What is your specialty?
Astrology is my main tool and I use it for predicting the time with greater accuracy. Astrology is really the best timing tool available. I'm also good with Tarot, and I find that tool is helpful to get at an outcome when I'm being blocked psychically or when what I'm getting is too vague.
Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?
I can and have. That was the experience I had when my grandmother died. But, I'll admit, this one skill does not turn on as easily as others. I will try when a client asks me, but I'm never sure it will produce results.
