Advisor Interview
Ever wanted to meet your favorite advisor? Get to know her or him a bit better? From time to time we will bring you interviews with PsychicCenter advisors. Here is where you can read how they found out what special gifts they have, how they developed their skills, and why we think they are so good at guiding us on our life path. If this interview inspires you, just give them a call.
How and when did you first find out about your 'psychic abilities'?
Since the time I could read I always had my head buried in books about the unknown and paranormal, and in my early teen years I received a collection of Time Life books about the unexplained, one of which dealt with psychic abilities. It really clicked with me because I'd always felt I had 'something' that went beyond intuition - I'd wake up in the morning and KNOW that we had to leave for school early, and sure enough there would be an accident on the road that slowed us down. Incidents like these happened frequently, but until I read up on psychic ability I took thoughts like these for granted, never thought they were something that I could get any control of or direction on.
How was it growing up with these special skills. Are they natural talents or did you study and develop them?
I did study to find a way to hone my natural talent. I read about other psychics and things they did to focus their energy, and about ways of meditating to clear my head of distractions and negative energy.
Do you think anyone can develop psychic skills?
I do, I think everyone is born with a degree of psychic ability, and I think people just have to be open to what the universe is trying to show them in order to develop them further. I think people have to understand developing their psychic powers takes time, and even when you've made progress it can still be very difficult. There are days when the messages being conveyed to you are still very muddled, no matter how much I focus. My personal belief is that when that happens, your guides are trying to convey to you that this is something that is not meant for you to know right now.
What type of mentality/mind set do you think it takes to develop these skills?
I think people need to have patience and a sense of who they are and what they would like to achieve, and not simply view psychic ability as a means to wish fulfillment.
Are you able to turn your psychic abilities 'on' or 'off' when you want to? Do you have any rituals to turn them 'on'.
I wish! It is not always as 'on' as I would like it to be so I do not make myself available for counseling until it is. Also if I'm reading for someone who is full of doubtful energy it immediately clouds what I'm trying to see because I can FEEL what they WANT me to say. As regards turning them 'on', I do my readings in a quiet room, and I 'clear out' the energy from the last reading so I'm starting fresh. I can't ever really turn it ''off,' though I do try to clear my mind at times so as not to feel like a sponge, picking up others' emotions because then I feel like a radio with a dial going back and forth through all the stations.
How did you get into doing psychic readings?
I started doing readings in my dorm at college, just for fun. The feedback was positive, which told me I was really in touch with something. It was one thing to read for acquaintances, I knew them, but when I started readings for people outside my circle they too said it was hitting home. I knew right then that this was what I was meant to do. After college I started out toward being a professional Tarot reader.
What happens during a psychic reading?
The beginning of a psychic reading for me is like a million puzzle pieces have been scattered into my brain, images and words flood in. The pieces will come together. I don't ask a lot of questions right at the beginning. I ask my clients for confirmation along the way because that's essential. It could turn out that the intention of the call was to ask about a husband, yet for some reason I am getting images of their child. I need to let the clients know that, because that information might be more important, and they didn't even expect it!
What is your primary tool for divination? What is your specialty?
The Tarot cards. I work with the Aquarian Tarot deck, its the one I've had since I was a teenager. My father bought it for me, and I've always felt very attached to it.
Can you communicate with spirits who have passed on?
I don't specialize in channelling spirits, but once in a while I do get messages from the client's loved one who has crossed over.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your abilities or a good experience?
When reading I feel that my tarot cards convey what needs to be known right now, it's not always about 'predicting the future' as it is knowing what needs to be done at this time to create the best possible future. That being said, when future information does comes through loud and clear, there's no better feeling than a client confirming it months later. Knowing I've helped them feel more confident about their choices in life is a great reward.
