Gratefulness Meditation Hand Gesture

Did you always wonder how to become a psychic? Well, you’ve got to start by developing intuitive skills you may or may not realize you have yet. So, then, how can you develop your intuition and psychic powers? Here’s the thing: We’re all psychic to a certain degree, but some people choose to cultivate their gift more than others — even seasoned psychics keep developing their abilities. It’s also important to point out that while the terms “intuitive” and “psychic” are often used interchangeably, they’re not exactly the same thing; there’s one slight difference.

Intuition can be described as an innate “gut feeling” that strikes you without overthinking. You don’t use logic or research to form your opinion about a particular person or situation. It’s just a sense that something isn’t quite right, but you can’t exactly explain why. Intuition stems from your natural-born instincts (aka survival mode), which comes from the third chakra, otherwise known as the solar plexus. It’s no surprise that its location is between your belly button and the bottom of the rib cage, or your “gut.”

While an intuitive instinct is spontaneous, psychic skills are triggered by conscious will. This, in turn, will provide you with more clarity regarding events, people, places, tangible objects, etc. Despite being a “fight or flight” reaction, you can learn how to be more intuitive — here’s how.

How to Become More Intuitive

Trust Yourself

Your gut feelings are not an accident, and the more confidence you have in your intuition, the faster you will be able to solve problems, achieve goals, and make smarter decisions in life. To trust your intuition, you have to trust yourself first.

Pay Attention to Your Five Senses

By becoming more in tune with your five senses, it’s easier to become more in touch with your sixth, aka your intuition.

Keep a Dream Journal

When it comes to improving intuitive abilities, look to your dreams. When you’re awake, your cognitive mind is on overload, but when you’re snoozing, it rests, too, which allows you to tap into your subconscious mind through your dreams.

Tap into Your Right Brain

Allow yourself to be a kid again and enjoy creative activities such as coloring, scrapbooking, drawing, or other arts and crafts. As with dreaming, getting crafty can help quiet down your cognitive mind, so you’re more aware of your intuition.

Analyze Your Intuition

Your intuition is with you every day, so make a conscious effort to analyze your intuitive decisions. When you’re learning how to strengthen this tool, it’s not uncommon to rush the process. Slow down and take some time to think about the path(s) you’re taking based on your gut instinct. Journaling can be a useful tool in this case.

Meditation is a great practice to incorporate into your life, but it’s a must when it comes to strengthening your intuition. Not only does it help you free your mind from distractions so that you can focus on your third chakra even more, but you’ll also find that it’s easier to detect your intuition through images, emotions, words, or physical feelings.

Even just ten minutes a day can help you bolster your intuitive skills. Who knows? You may get to the point where you can practice intuitive healing, a form of holistic healing accessed through a deep meditative state. When you reach this place, it’s possible to pick up on intuitive information about others — not just yourself.

Spend Time in the Great Outdoors

Spending time in nature, such as taking a walk, having a picnic, exercising, or simply taking in the surroundings, is another way to calm your cognitive mind and let your intuition take over.

Not that you want to dwell on negative experiences from the past, but think about an unpleasant experience from the past for a few minutes. Were you ignoring any gut instincts that wound up coming into fruition? Perhaps you experienced some form of foreshadowings, such as a vision or dream. The more details you can remember, the more you’ll be able to trust your intuition in the future.

Test Your Instincts

If you’re looking for a fun way to use your intuitive powers, try interpreting tarot or oracle cards without consulting a guidebook or looking at the Internet. Testing your card knowledge will only work if you don’t already know what the cards mean, so no cheating! Another test you can do is observe people and try to pick up characteristics, thoughts, etc., before speaking to them. These are great exercises to learn how to use your
